Awards and Special Recognition
Cambridge First Day Award
On June
13, CCTV and five other organizations were honored by the City of
Cambridge and MIT for “Bridging the
Digital Divide.” ComputerCENTRAL shared the spotlight with
the Community Learning Center, Cambridge Housing Authority, the East
End House, the Margaret Fuller House and Communitech. Each organization
received a copy of the City Council order of congratulations, a beautiful
plaque, and a check for $1000.

Festival
Alliance for Community Media Northeast Region Video
Festival - CCTV staff and members took home five first place awards
in the Alliance for Community Media 9th Annual Northeast Region Video
Festival. The winners were:
Angel Aiguier: "Prelude
to African American History in Cambridge"
John Donovan: "The Good Fight: Combating Youth Substance
Abuse," which was produced in a class John taught at Cambridge
College last year.
Sean Effel: “Prom Morning Fatality,” a
reenactment of an alcohol related tragedy presented by Matignon
High School and Cambridge Police, Fire, and Emergency Services.

Alliance for Community Media: National
Hometown Video Festival
For the sixth time in our history,
CCTV received the Overall Excellence in Public Access Programming
award in the Alliance for Community Media’s Hometown Video
Festival.
Each year, one access center in each of three budget
categories is recognized for the quality and diversity of its programming
and service to the community. CCTV competes in the highest budget
category, against access centers two and three times our size. CCTV
members also made a respectable showing, winning the following awards:
Marie Caso 1st Place "My Memoirs" and
Honorable Mention: "Get me Out of the Office!"
